Interdisciplinary Care Teams (ICTs) work collaboratively to meet patient needs, and may include medical and mental and substance use disorders health specialists, nurses, social workers, physician assistants, and nonclinical staff. This issue brief describes how peer support workers can contribute to ICTs by improving engagement and retention in care, as well as promoting recovery and health care.
